Sara (Nanny) Sue Miller

Sara ( Nanny) Sue Miller 100, passed away at her home Tuesday Jan 9, 2024.

She was born in Conyers Ga on December 18, 1923 to Walter Perry Rice and Virginia Mitcham Rice. She lived most of her life in Clarkston, Ga where she was a member of Clarkston Methodist Church and attended Clarkston High School. She was married to Zachary Wilson Miller from 1940 until his death in 1975. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. No one did those jobs better than she.

She worked for Emory Hospital 1975- 1991 before moving to Savannah Ga to be close to her family. Sue Miller personified joy in living. She had a big personality and heart. Sue enjoyed the arts, crafts, music, and her Atlanta Braves. But most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Sue is survived by her son William “Bill” Miller ( Glyslaine), daughter Helen “Terri” Hill (Jimmy), granddaughter Amanda Hill, grandson Matthew Hill (Ashley), great grandson, Avery Hill, grandson Chad Miller, great grandson Jordan Miller, niece Bonnie Bennett, nephew Danny Rice (Judith), nephew Hoyt Blalock, niece Dot Barineau. Also, many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Zachary Wilson Miller sr., sisters, Margaret Barineau, Halley Locke, Virginia Dial, brother, Walter Rice, grandson Zachary Wilson Miller II, nieces, Joyce Barineau, Betty Jo McElreath, Marie Roberts, Jean Sanders, Katherine Wilkey, Bobbie Blalock, nephews Ricky Rice, Marshall Rice, Eugene Barineau. 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Clarkston United Methodist Church.
